The History of the Show

    The original was first aired sometime in August of '95. Tagged as Thank God It's
Sabado, the Original TGIS made its mark into Television slowly but surely. A year
later, the rival network presented a show of a very similar format. Called Gimik, the
show did affect TGIS' ratings.

    With the strong fan following and numerous awards, the original gang moved on
to a spin-off show, Growing Up. It is titled such because the gang is now entering
maturity. So who will take over TGIS? No other than The New Generation TGIS.
Composed of Bianca, Iņaki, Ice, Tere, Happy, Marci, Rain, Reyster, and Bullet, the
new gang faced many comparisons as to whether they can equal or even surpass
the sucess of their predecessors. And at the rate things are going now, it looks
like they just did! Catch TGIS every Saturdays, 4:00p on GMA 7.

About Growing Up

   Growing Up, or TGIS Primetime, had a total of 79 episodes before bidding farewell
to televiewers last February 02. A Special, aired February 09, showed some footage
and interesting trivia about the original show. On February 16, a new show replaced
Growing Up, entitled Text, or The Extreme Team.

About Gimik

   Gimik is no longer airing on ABS-CBN. Instead, it is replaced by a similar show
starring younger stars. Entitled G-MIK, the new show has the same time slot as that
of TGIS'.

TGIS Rumours

   It is rumored that Champagne Morales, Metropop Search winner, will join TGIS.
Antoinette is rumored to leave the show. However, none of these has been confirmed
yet.
